*Fredericksburg, Tx - Local democrats are upset that FISD removed 10 pervasively vulgar books from children’s libraries in FISD. Their solution? Set up and house an “underground library” featuring these sexually obscene books at the Gillespie County Democrat Party office in Fredericksburg.
- Some of the books deemed inappropriate for children by FISD are now available and being distributed by local democrats at their Gillespie County office. Of the three books pictured below, two (Jesus Land and Fade) were in the Fredericksburg Middle School; the third (Me, Earl, and the Dying Girl) was in the Fredericksburg High School. All three were ultimately removed and deemed pervasively vulgar by FISD. These 3 books were available at this book event and included in the “underground library” stationed at the Gillespie County Democrat Party office. (See excerpts here)
- A FBG Standard Radio Post contributor and FISD Book Review Committee member helped host this event and the newspaper promoted the event before and afterwards.
